Air+Haptic Runner-up in the Europan 16: Hjertelia-site for a Pilot Neighbourhood.
The young employees at Air Studio and Haptic Architects were awarded as the runner-up in the open international competition for a pilot neighbourhood in Hjertelia, Hønefoss. This site was the second most popular site of the entire Europan 16. The project was among others noted for its conceptual clarity and strength, new urban farming and social forms of living, the understanding of terrain and agriculture and not least, the exotic architectural references.

Air Studio was awarded an honorary mention among 472 entries in the open international competition for a new art museum in Tampere, Finland. Our entry “Kävelyllä Metsässä” was noted for its courageous and imaginary wood structures as part of the modern art museum concept.

Our website marks the launch of Air Studio as an office and its design ethos, “evidence based architecture”. The true meaning of the slogan is demonstrated through a select few projects defined by different scale and complexity.

Air Studio receives high praise and remarks for the entry “Álagablettur” in Reykjavik, Iceland. This entry was lauded for its dreamlike expression and how it pays hommage to Icelandic building traditions and landscape.
